jr. jazz
this is cayd's first year playing jr. jazz. he's always wanted to play but, it's always interfered with wrestling which he doesn't love and which was really expensive this year so we gave in and signed him up.
he had his first game on saturday. wearing his new basketball shoes he got for his birthday. feeling all official. he holds his hands awesome when he runs. i think grandpa craig told him he'd run faster if he did this. i'm not sure if it works. i suppose i could give it a try.

it was pretty dang cool to watch him in his first game. he took a lot of shots and ran hard up and down the court. at some point, i believe half time, i waved him over to the side lines and told him to run and grab a drink. i could tell he was tired and thirsty so i thought it a great idea. turns out i was wrong. the rest of the boys ran to the bench to consult with the coach then they went to hydrate. i thought my dad would have a heart attack. he told cayden later on to "never listen to your mom during a game." my bad.
here he is making a shot. #25.

the night before we had a little party at our house for cayd's birthday with the family. i'm sticking to my rule: friend birthday parties only every other year. he didn't seem too upset about it.
it was a nice night despite the fact that i always run around with my head cut off the hour prior to our gatherings so i can feed a lot of people on time. this year, he requested breakfast for dinner. i may or may not have persuaded him to do so. i couldn't stand the thought of pizza. again. so i made his favorite french toast using homemade challah bread along with scrambled eggs, bacon and sausage. chocolate milk and oj to drink then our favorite red velvet cake (which he decorated himself) and ice cream. yum-o.
he was spoiled by everyone. one lucky boy. birthday's are neat because they give us a reason to make others feel special. he is special. i hope he felt it.
umm, i don't know what's going on with this picture. obviously the wrong camera setting.
xoxoxo
