christmas eve with the hendry's

these people spoiled us rotten this year!
my mother and father in-law.

for the last several years we've made it our own tradition to go to a movie with just our little family and then we head to my grandmother's house for dinner after which we go to craig and linda's for a christmas eve celebration.  last year, linda decided she wanted to exchange gifts together on christmas eve.  i'm personally fond of the idea and so i was glad she asked for us to do it again this year.

as usual, she spoiled each of us with our own ornament for the year and gave all of the kids christmas eve jammies and coloring books.

then onto stockings and presents.  we received amazing gifts this year from everyone.

be still my heart.  my polyester wearing man.
jake was given a new drill and some other necessary tool-type things.  i have no idea what they were but, he was excited so, i am excited for him.

jon and nat gave him this awesome beanie. the funniest thing about it (in my opinion), is he looks exactly the same with or without it on. teehee!

sissy with her stack.  more adorable outfits for bitty baby and a new stroller to push her around in.

cayden = legos, legos, legos!  this boy is seriously amazing at lego building.  i believe it's a sign of things to come.

this boy.  he took in every single second of christmas this year.  as any perfect child would do.  he's amazing even though he appears to be frustrated with the bow keeping him from his packages.
inside: legos! he's on his way.

and this is me.  about to open my new .....

sewing machine!
(not really 'cause that box is too small to be a sewing machine but, it was a fun series of pictures anyway, right?)

seriously! i was so excited.  SERIOUSLY!  do you know what?  like weeks before christmas linda came to my house and talked to me about her cricut machine i'd been borrowing since the summer (i know, bad).  she said, "merry christmas, it's yours."  i was thrilled with this!  it's an amazing set up that she's left me with so to get a sewing machine and all the goodies to go with it (cutting board, scissor set, bobbin box, patters, rulers etc.), i'm just down right spoiled rotten.

i'm okay with it too ....

nat, ann and me.  ann gave us the coolest interchangeable necklaces.

it was such a fun night.  the kids are always so pooped when we go home but they tough it out.  looking out the car window for signs of santa's sleigh and excited to leave the reindeer their carrots and celery as well as santa some milk and cookies.  it's such a magical time!  i'm so grateful to have such a wonderful, loving and giving family.
