splashing summer away

a couple of weekends ago my mom and i took the kids down to the gateway to run through the fountains. at first, they were all really timid about it (weird) but once they saw everyone was doing it, they caved to the peer pressure.

of course gavin stole the show. he was a scooting fool, surprising all the spectators with his quick moves as he dodged one water explosion after another. not only was it great to watch him enjoy himself so much, it was really hilarious to watch all the people laughing at him.

i don't think anyone in our home is too upset that summer is coming to an end. we all enjoy the fall months with as much enthusiasm. i love the cooler weather and look forward to being able to jog around outside without melting. minus jake, i know we would all agree that halloween is a favorite holiday around here. september and october are also crazy birthday months in our family so there's not a dull moment with all the celebrating. i love it!

but! before we say goodbye to summer, we'll take one final trip next week over the ocean to dig our toes into a few tropical, sandy beaches. aloha!

Oh how I wish I lived in Utah. Summer here lasts until October (atleast that is usually the last month our temps are over 100 degrees). JEALOUS!

P.S. LOVED the advice you gave to Amy on her blog. I think I needed to hear that just as much as she did. You have such a way with words...
