our trip
i'll start with one
this photo from our trip to "the lighthouse" would be cayden's first pick if i were to ask him what photo to share. actually, it may have been a tie between this one or the foggy photo of the catfish in the pond at the bali hai or maybe even the slimy snail that brooklyn took while on a morning walk with grandma and grandpa.
our trip was sensational. of course, the highlight was being able to witness my little brother vow to love his bride for the rest of forever in the most amazing setting on earth.
there is no way i could describe in words how neat it was to stand on that beach and watch them be married. i surprised myself as i cried like a baby. i didn't even cry at my own wedding but there was something magical about the quaint setting. the lack of commercial flare that you get at most weddings made it so personal. i also think that i'm a fan of marriage. i have a great one and want the same for all those close to me.
but really, i think my tears were mostly selfish. i'm just so stinkin' happy he fell in love with a spectacular girl. i'm happy for myself that i've gained another sister but more importantly, a new dear friend.
i think i'll take some time to post about our trip in detail so that i can have documentation when i put my blog on paper at the end of this year. so i apologize in advance for what will be a lot of posts about our trip over the coming week(s) and leave this post as the intro.
the reason we went to begin with ....
