hawaii wedding day

did you know trav and linds got married on 9-9-09? totally unplanned too, because they're not weird enough to actually care what the date was. unplanned coolness.

the first thing we did on this day was meet for a wedding luncheon put together by my mom. it was beautiful as was she.

the setting was the princeville golf course overlooking hanalei bay. we enjoyed the most delicious lunch on the balcony over looking the golf course. the view was spectacular as was the coconut cake. the cake was so good in fact, i cannot stop thinking about it and plan to attempt my own version this coming sunday for brooklyn's birthday cupcakes.

my dad tried to say hello and thank everyone for coming but he was not able to squeak any words out through his emotional breakdown so josh took over and gave a most lovely toast leaving me to wish later on that i had also stood and voiced some thoughts and feelings.

if i had thought to do so at the time rather than worrying about gavin's noise level as he sword fought with his knife and fork, i might have said something about how i feel their commitment is admirable because marriage is not always easy and this is coming from someone whose marriage is actually quite easy. life is trying and stressful leaving us sometimes in an putrid mood ready to throw in the towel. but when we can share a laugh and a warm bed with someone we love, it makes all these things bearable. having a person and being someones person is neat. may you always be each others person.

me and my person. my person and i.

the company was great. the champagne made it even better and brooklyn only spilled her drink a handful of times.

it was muggy and hot and sticky and the kids got bored easily so it was convenient that the banquet room off the terrace was empty. it made a great playroom to keep them busy while we took a lot of pictures.

and in no particular order, many, many photos ...

It all looks fabulous. And I agree with you about how neat it is to have a special person. My person completes me. It's magical. I hope the same for Travis and Lindsay. Did I spell her name right? I hope so.
