being adults

remember when it was halloween?

well, right before then, we participated in a halloween road race.

no children please.

it wasn't the kind of race where you break a sweat (unless you're clothes are stuffed with batting).  no, it was a scavenger hunt road race.  racing in your car, on the road, scavenging for clues to the finish.

one of the girls from yoga class announced she was putting this on in the provo/orem area.  i was like, "sign me up!"  we are awesomely competitive so for sure, we were going to win the race.

the theme is obvious but just in case you're the oblivious type, we were required to dress as characters from alice and wonderland (old or new).

i love halloween costumes!!  so does travis.

we really had a great time even though we lost the race.  like, Lost lost.  like, didn't even finish, Lost.  we sucked it up but we confidently blame being completely unfamiliar with the area and BYU campus.  we'd also like to blame the road construction that made the gps useless and the lighting in the car.  yeah, the lighting was a real problem.

next year will be different.  i'm thinking about branching off and putting on a salt lake version of the race.  it was so fun and we want to do it again, just not in provo so start organizing your teams.

last admission:  even though there were some awesome costumes out of the 20 participating teams, we were a bit bent about not winning the costume contest.  for real.

jake and jon alone were fantastic (if i do say so myself).  don't you think?!
