i surrender

sometimes i wish you were a little more reasonable, a little less creative. it would make getting ready for school so much easier.

sometimes i can't tell the difference between your truth and the actual truth and this worries me. how am i going to know when your teacher is really pregnant and it won't be completely offensive when i ask her kindly when she is due?

most of the time though, i'm grateful that you have a mind of your own and that you use it.

most of the time, you're creations make me smile. even at the crack of dawn which happens to be the exact same time i want to be anywhere but where i am.

and, most of the time, your stories entertain and create laughter. even when they get you (or me) in trouble.

today you witnessed me punish your older brother unreasonably for being reprimanded at school. you sat confidently in your pink princess chair, your princess shoes crossed one over the other, looked me straight in the eye and said with a lollipop in your mouth "you'll give up mom ... you'll just give up and let him go to the birthday party...."

But, you won't give in. You will hang in there with that adorable boy and always look back with gratitude that you stuck to your guns. You go, Mom.
Cute post about a gorgeous little girl.
