what's going on?

gosh almighty, where have we been?  "we" as in you, me and the rest of them.  i miss my blogging friends and i miss my blog.   the quite has nothing to do with lack of words.  i have plenty to share even if there are only few people who care.  in fact, there are so many things i've been wanting to blog about that i've overwhelmed my mind with words and procrastinated logging them all here.  i don't know where to start.  forgive me.

for tonight, while the husband watches a movie i'm not interested in, i'll take the time to show you some of what i've been up to.  i've been baking.  a lot.

whole wheat banana bread, revisited (my nutritious dish)

cinnamon rolls (the bread bakers apprentice)

double chocolate banana bread (joy the baker)

homemade oreos (thanks melissa)

cupcake pops (bakerella)

what else?  zucchini bread with chocolate chips and lemon buttermilk sherbet.  i've even been experimenting with slow brewing coffee to make iced coffee at home. i love coffee.  i love iced coffee.

basically, i've been keeping myself busy.  making tasty treats and giving most away.  i enjoy the baking process as much as the taste of these goodies so giving them away is the only way to save my waistline from major trauma.  i can't handle waistline trauma.

yesterday i started making baguettes for my neighbor.  she'd brought over a beautiful basket full of goodies from her garden including three bags of fresh herbs so i thought it a good idea to make some pesto with her basil and send a jar back over with a lovely baguette.  the problem, i learned with hearth breads, is the process is long and i really don't have adequate oven space or bakeware to finish the job so i gave up and bought a couple of loaves at the farmer's market today.   then, the recipe i followed for the pesto called for salt and, i followed directions.  i should have known better.  i thought to cut the oil nearly in half but didn't consider the salt.  i hate salty foods so i fear this pesto, while yummy, was probably too salty.  oh well.  i tried.

this is my post for now.  it will have to do until i can get my thoughts organized to move forward with other super exciting topics.

until then ... you can find me in the kitchen less makeup and a bra.  my favorite.

p.s.  check out my foodie blog soon for some new yummy additions

I love your posts! I ran into Linda yesterday and was telling her that now that I can diet and loss this baby fat (and the stuff that was there before the baby) that I need you to be my coach. I think if you were telling me what to do I would have a better chance of following through!
