gavin delivers life jackets to his siblings for some anticipated lake swimming.  this is our lake, the lake just up the street from our house.  i don't believe it has a name so i'll continue to call it our lake until someone corrects me. it's small and a little crowded at times but, it's free and we found that sunday's are the day to go in order to avoid the crowds.

we basked in the sun while the kids played in the not-so-soft sand.  i read a few chapters of my book and we feasted on sandy sandwiches and warm licorice.  every now and then, i would think about going for a swim but, the thought left just as quickly as it came.

the boys played catch and gavin made sand piles with my drink cup.  we do not own sand buckets.  i do not know why.

the umbrella blew over twice and we were impressed by the baby duck who stayed under the water for much longer than we assumed was possible.

cayden put his last-week-of-school lesson to use while we tried to decide what kind of butterfly it was that had joined our party.  a painted lady or a monarch? which are probably the only two species he was taught about but, i took his word for it because it was two more species than i was aware of.

i heart happy, warm days with my people.

you have a laek. no small thing. When i know of someone that is moving to utah i tell them that sundays are your day to go an do if you want to beat crowds.
You are my special friend because a while ago you told me that if i added you to me blog roll it would make you feel special. so i gave you your own little catagory. glad you noticed. thanks for sticking up for my abilities - jenifer can really be a spirit breaker. ;)
We have been wanting to go there, but I had heard it was a little crowded. Looks like lots of fun, and the water is a lot more blue than I imagined.
