science

today i took these kids to the park.  nine of them.  by myself.   with a wagon, six two liter bottles of diet coke, three packs of mint mentos, bottle caps, sweet tarts and fruit mentos.  oh, and a test tube.

when i was in school, i didn't really do all that well in science.  i guess i never really thought it would be cool to find out what would happen if you dropped a few pieces of candy all at once into a soda bottle.

three ...

two ...

one ...

it was cool.

gavin only got sprayed in the face once but it was enough for him to stand really far back for the rest of the experiment.  it was hilarious to see the audience anxiously waiting for the explosion and then gavin 20 feet behind them echoing his own countdown.

today i appreciate the fact that cayden listened to his mom and, instead of taking a pick off of his teacher's "ideas for first grade science project" list, he let me make a project recommendation.  it just so happens that my recommendation was awesome enough to warrant the participation of some fellow classmates.  their moms are grateful for me, i know it.  now they won't have to rush around on monday night to come up with something on their own.

awesome me thanks again to my trusty counterpart, google.

p.s. we even had a few passer-by's stop to watch our show.  that was neat.

Hi I am doing the fitness challenge with you and thought I'd check out everyones blogs. My daughter just came home yesterday from school and told me she had done this same project! Looks like a fun one! I might have to take my kiddos over to the park to try it out. Your blog is really fun! Hope you don't mind me commenting. :)

Always a winning experiment. We need to do bottle rockets some time.
