chicken soup for my soul

my favorite husband shares everything with me.  even my illnesses.  he suffered through it on tuesday night just as i had a few nights before.  the difference though?  he got up two hours after his last visit to the commode then went and worked all day.

superstar.

superstar could have stayed home.  superstar has never missed a day of work due to illness.  not once. he had already requested friday off to hang with the family so really, he could have laid in bed all day yesterday and slept like i would have then go work on friday but instead, he chose to suffer through a miserable day at work yesterday so that we could enjoy the well version of him tomorrow on his day off.

he's neat like that.

so neat in fact, i wanted to make sure he knew i recognized his neatness so the kids and i delivered some chicken soup to him at work.  they love him.  naturally, right?  children love their dads, i know but my kids, they really love their dad.

first, we turned the corner at his job site and saw his company trailer.  the noise level in the car grew louder.  then, we saw his blue and orange truck parked by the curb and their excitement started to build even more.  when he walked out the building with his orange vest and hard hat, it was like they were witnessing their very own hero walking towards our car to shake their hands.  what an exciting moment (or so it seemed)!

personally, i couldn't help but laugh at the fact that his already huge beard actually looked even bigger under that hard hat.  a phenomenon i didn't think possible! i had to take a picture, no matter how much it might annoy him.

my handsome hard-hat-orange-vest-wearing-hero-of-the-day.  i heart him.  forever and always.

this is my appreciation today.  for him, i am grateful.

He is a handsome hero in my book as well. I'm ever so proud.
