the graduate

sounds like the name of a movie.  maybe it is.  is it?

ann, my sister in law, graduated from brighton high school yesterday.  class of 2010, it's crazy!

i met ann when she was three years old.  i've watched her grow up.   she's a wonderful woman.  she has the sweetest spirit.  she is kind, quite and genuine.  proper.  honest, compassionate and pure of heart.  she is very, very short.

yesterday i watched her walk out with her graduating class.  blue and orange.  of course, it was a familiar setting.  it seems like i was just there myself although that's not really the truth.  eleven years ago isn't "just there" but i remember it like it was yesterday.

i wish i'd taken a picture of ann with my camera.  i was busy trying to get some photo's on linda's camera so there is not a photo of ann to go with this post.  i'll have to come back to it once i have the chance to search through my box.  i have some great pictures of ann and i.  several of her little self in my arms before prom or homecoming.  she was always there, always ready for a hug.

ann's going away to college.  this will be weird.  cayden said so himself this morning on the way to school.  he said he will miss ann and he would like to make her a card to tell her so.  she is a special person in the lives of my children.  her imagination is endless, they love this about her.  she plays with them and will never hesitate to entertain them when they whine for attention.  thank you ann.  i will miss you too.

watching the seniors throw their caps in the air was super cool.  what an exciting time in life.  the end and the beginning at the same time.  she has many wonderful moments ahead of her and i'm looking forward to being included as much as possible.

congratulations ann!  way to go brighton bengals class of 2010.

and since i don't have a photo of ann in her cap and gown, here is a favorite of my own.  the beginning of our beginning ....

today, i am grateful for aladdin.  a wondrous place for you and me. *wink*

I love that picture! I am grateful for Hercules as it kept my students entertained on the last day of school - they earned a party, I don't randomly show Disney movies. :)
