mom me milk muffins math and m&m's

the kindergartners in c's class invited their mom's to "mom and me" day. c invited dad and "if dad can't come then grandma will come and if grandma can't come then grandpa will come and if grandpa can't come then you can come mom." thanks buddy for making me feel so awesome. don't feel bad for me, i'm not motivated by intimacy or anything like that.

several people asked c why he wouldn't just ask his mom to mom and me day and he said "because teacher said we could bring dad, or grandma, or grandpa, or uncles, or friends, or neighbors" he must not have listened to the if part of her instructions ... if your mom can't come. luckily, his first picks weren't able to come so i decided to show up and count m&m's with him, read his "m" book, draw a picture of him while he drew a picture of me and we ate some muffins together. he was excited that i was there. i was excited to be there with all the other moms.

today we were headed to a party store to locate various items for b's birthday party while she was at school. although he's excited it's her birthday, he can't quit talking about his own.

"mom, can we go to bouncin' off the walls again for my birthday?"

"we'll see, it's a lot of money and mom doesn't have a lot of money right now"

"then you should work more"

"i'm trying to son, i'm working as hard as i can just so we can pay for our house. if we can't pay for our house then we'll have to move in with grandma and grandpa and that would make grandpa really grumpy"

"he's YOUR dad, you should talk to him and tell him not to be grumpy (pause) ... where will we put all of our movies?"
