the loot
april sixth is the day i was born.
i had my 29th birthday on tuesday. one more year as a twenty-something and i'm totally fine with that because i feel very confident that once i turn thirty, i'll have it all figured out. wisdom.
in my humble opinion, birthday's are the best. i like them.
i like being with all my favorite people and i like getting presents. should i admit that?
this year, i was spoiled. my goodness.
you might be surprised that i took pictures so i could show everyone how much i am loved. giving someone material things tells them you love them. right?
check it ...
the husband, he got me a much coveted gps heart rate monitor. i am dying to give it a whirl. who doesn't want to know how fast and far they're running every second?
he also invested in a new foam roller for my sore muscles. my current roller has been abused by the children of this home. i do believe they've confused it for food more than once.
d&g perfume. i've wanted this perfume for a considerable amount of time. actually, when i was trying to lose weight last year, i told myself at several milestones "reach this new goal and you can buy yourself that perfume." fortunately, i reached all of my goals. unfortunately, i didn't get paid to do it and the perfume costs money. so, i repeatedly broke this promise to myself. i had to be satisfied with stealing a little spritz from the sample shelf every time i visited the department store. thanks to my sweetie, no more sampling necessary.
check out the yoga mat, that's from my mom and the yoga toes, those are from the kids. no more slippery feet for this yoga lover. i'm looking forward to trying these new digs out tonight.
mom and dad also gave me those neat serving bowls from crate and barrel. how cool is that? we don't even have a crate in barrel in utah so that makes them extra special.
some books. one from brother and one from the parents.
some lotion that i would never buy for myself and have since hidden so the mini-me of this home will keep her hands off. generous gifts from my cute sister in law's (yep, leaving travis right out of that one).
my sweet mother in law came and hung out with the kids for me on my birthday so i could enjoy lunch with my mom. mom and i never get to go out just the two of us. it was nice.
craig and linda also gave me a very generous gift card to the running store. now i don't have to stress about coming up with the cash for a new pair of shoes which i'll need soon enough.
because of jon and nat i will be able to expand my vocabulary even farther. she saw the book "100 words to make you sound smart" and thought of me. she knows that i like to sound smart despite my lack of knowledge about most things. they spoiled me too this year with a great pair of earrings and a gift card for some new makeup. i'm still a makeup snob and love my mac but heaven knows, i can't afford it!
oh! and finally, a new outfit to sweat in. thanks mom!
side note: while downloading pictures it became obvious that brooklyn got her hands on my camera. apparently, her fisher price is no longer sufficient. she took a photo of every item in the pantry. i'll spare you but here's one that i think is quite fantastic ...
thanks so much to everyone for celebrating me. i like you all and love most of you. even the sandy granite ward relief society who still thinks i live at my parents house.

I always think Utah has all the coolest stores, so imagine my surprise to hear you say that Utah doesn't have a Crate and Barrel. I guess Oregon is cooler than I thought:)
You're looking mighty hot these days!
