and mommy didn't even cry ...

C was so excited for school he wore his back pack all morning until it was time to go. For the first half hour moms/dads got to stay with their kids (practice flushing the toilet, measure his foot ~ those kind of important things).

I had to interview him for the first day of school:

What's your favorite color? BLUE
What's your favorite food? PIZZA
What's your favorite thing to do outside? RIDE MY BIKE
What's your favorite thing to do inside? GO OUTSIDE AND RIDE MY BIKE and COLOR
Why do you want to come to Kindegarten? TO MEET NEW FRIENDS
What are you most excited about doing at Kindegarten? RECESS and LEARNING TO READ

He was nervous but as brave as I expected him to be. After I left him there and while I was waiting in the "pick up" line with all of the other mom's I had some time to reflect. I am so impressed with my kids and their ability to walk head on into these new experiences without looking back. I am pretty sure I was more nervous then he was which made me realize how, as adults, we avoid change, or any situation that will throw us out of our comfort zones and these young minds take every new experience in stride with such maturity. Seems a little backwards that he could be such a great example to me at this time in my life when I need to accept change and make the most out of the situations I'm dealt.

I'm so proud of you buddy!

Do you know why your kids hold their heads high? Because there mother does. What a great gift to give your children - self confidence!
