Stay at Home Mom vs. Working Mom ...

How am I to be both and do it adequately? Is there really such a thing as a "work-at-home-mom?" If so, I'm horrible at it.

There's no question that staying at home with kids is much harder then working away from home while someone else tends to their every need. I've done both and I can clearly see that my babies are much better off being home with me, to be able to play with their own toys and nap in their own beds (although naptime is quickly becoming a favorite past-time of mine) but I genuinely miss having a good reason to put a bra on in the morning.

You may or may not know that the first 5 years of C's life he was at a sitter during the day Mon-Thur while I worked on building my business as a mortgage broker. It's been an incredible career path for me, one that has offered a flexible schedule and the pay is nothing to complain about. When he started pre-school we were faced with challenges that were not expected and this is when it became most apparent that he needed me more then I had ever considered. So I moved my office home last September at the same time the mortgage industry took a turn for the worse and the real estate market soon followed as a result. Now I'm part of a growing population of people who are scrambling to make ends meet after living a life of "no worries" and the timing couldn't be worse.

I have the pleasure of juggling three kids, maintaining a home and trying to earn a living all at the same time not to mention the crippling effect my perfectionism has on the situation. I cannot do all things well all the time, what gives?

I guess what I am saying is don't be surprised if you come to my door and I'm not wearing a bra and don't whisper when you see I'm letting the Playstation and the Wii entertain my kids while I attempt to earn enough money to put food in their bellies ~ I already feel bad enough about it! I'm doing the best I can with what I have and thank God that I have the handsome face of a man who believes in me still to look into at the end of each day.

There are no pictures to go well with this post, I'm just whining and you really don't want to see me without my bra on but what good is a post without pictures? Here are some from a few weeks back when my dad let the kids entertain themselves in his sprinklers:

And for whatever reason baby didn't feel like running through the sprinklers with them so here he is, cute as can be ...

You should tell Seth that! I deal with kids 24/7 He argues that his job is harder than mine!

You are an amazing mom & you have never backed down from a challenge you just have to look at this as a obstacle that you can and will overcome. I admire the fact that you can be a stay at home mom and also work from home that requires alot of patience and great planning.

You are the greatest mom ever, and I'm blessed for it because they are my grandchildren you are raising. Never feel guilty for liberating yourself from a bra!

Love ya,
Grandma Linda
