my style
or lack of?
i bought myself some new shoes with the money my super cool in-laws gave me for my bday.
they look like this:

the kids went with me to the mall. we ended up in nordstrom to start which was probably a mistake. my intention was some new cropped jeans for spring/summer but, i can't walk past the shoe section in nordstrom without taking a gander. can you?
my cute little daughter was in heaven. high heels and sparkle all over the displays. fancy-ish women carrying armfuls of shopping bags gazing right along side us. then her mom tries on (and buys) sperry topsiders. i think she died a little. really, you should have seen her face. i'm such a disappointment.
she says, "why don't you wear high heels?"
it's a reasonable question for which i have several answers but none seem adequate to her. girls should wear heels. no ifs, ands or buts about it. no matter if you're a glorified carpool driver or, if you're just walking to and from the laundry room. who cares if you'd be taller than your man or you might break your ankle because you can't walk in heels. is comfort really necessary? she thinks not.
poor girl.
i'm happy though. i'm happy to add to a little somethin' somethin' to my shoe collection which looks exactly like this:
{not pictured: slippers}
i'll make it up to her somehow. one day. maybe.

Seriously? I thought I looked at least OK cute, but then I asked Rylie about it when she got home and told her what Ivy had said. All Rylie said was: Yeah, sorry Mom but Ivy said it right. Those should go to DI.
Whatever.
CUTE, cute shoes, by the way!
