cayden ~ an update on my boy

it's that time of year when
the family room becomes a wrestling room

his first match of the season.
he's yet to defeat this particular opponent (the photo stream is just a little bit deceiving. as seen through the eyes of his mother.)  the kid has 20 pounds on my boy.  pairing up by height is not fair.  this moms says so.

he had a line in the second grade program

some use wires, poles and plugs.
we do it simply. we're electrical bugs.

it was his "most embarrassing day ever" because he was forced to "wear a headband in front of his kindergarten sister"

one morning last week his teacher chased me down in the drop off lane.  while she should be directing traffic and while wearing a fluffy white beanie with matching gloves, she tells me, again, how much she loves my boy.  "he's just so amazing."  i'll tell you what else she said, verbatim, (what mom wouldn't?).  she said, "he's the most intelligent student i've ever taught.  he just is amazing.  he will be able to do anything he wants."  she talks with her eyes and shakes her head while speaking almost as in disbelief over what she's sharing with me.

she speaks about him with so much enthusiasm.  it makes me feel so happy.  and so proud.  she is good for him.  she is good to him.  he is very lucky and i am so grateful for her.

and then ....

my heart melts to see him in his new scout uniform even though he's a punk and won't smile for the camera.  all annoyed like he says, "are you going to put that on your facebook mom?"  me, "no.  i'm going to put it on my blog."

he's working on his bobcat now for the blue and gold banquet in a few weeks.
one of the tasks is to teach him about child abuse and convince him that i am akela
big stuff.

So, he decided to stick with wrestling, huh? Did you have to talk him into it? Or did he decide it really is his thing?

His teacher sounds like one amazing lady! I always love it when a teacher gloats about my child. Who wouldn't!?!

He's so handsome in his scout uniform! I tried using the glue to attach Eli's newest patches. What a nightmare. Sewing is the only way to go. Blah!
