pinkalicious party

there was a lot of pink at brooklyn's pinkalicious party.  just like i envisioned it.  i wanted it to be special because she's special and she's truly the funnest person to do special things for because she's so dang appreciative.  thanking me over and over and going on and on about how fun it was.  she kept everything a secret from her little friends and was so cute as we planned and prepared. i think it was a hit.  check it out.

the kitchen table the night before.  i tried to make everything myself. even the "pom poms" my mom and i attempted to do on our own.  they ended up a bit lopsided so we turned them into flower arrangements in mason jars.

jake told me i need to work on my streamer skills.  agreed.

pink party favors

the girls made cute "initial" necklaces.  i tried to show my example below, i apologize for the creepy looking wrinkled skin.  i have no explanation.

pinkalicious cupcakes
strawberry lemonade

we had the guests guess how many pink jelly beans were in the jelly bean jar.  the prize, the jelly beans (obviously).  there were 400 jelly beans in the jar (i was amazed as i was counting them out).  the closest guess was brooklyn's dear friend berkley.  she guessed 200!

i forgot to take a picture of the invitation.  we asked the girls to wear pink.  brooklyn was going to give away a prize for her favorite get-up so when she announced the winner, she said "everyone!" and they all got their own pinkalicious book thanks to grandma linda and her scholastic connections.  thank you grandma!

i'm not a fan of pinata's.  i just think it's horrible to take a bat to a pink poodles head all for candy.  no one else seemed to mind though and of course, the pinata was filled with pink candy.

while we got cupcakes and ice cream ready my sweet friend melissa read the pinkalicious book to the girls.  melissa teaches pre-school so i knew she would be able to handle the task.  we gave her a hard time because she brought mykelle straight from a soccer game dressed in blue.  she felt bad but, it didn't matter.  i think mykelle had a great time anyway.  at least i hope so! will you forgive me for teasing you melissa?

that is strawberry ice cream.  i was disappointed that it wasn't pink.  the nerve!

she has such cute little friends.  i think they all had fun.  if not, they'll have to wait for her 8th birthday before another chance at a great time.  this "every other year friend party" tradition was a great idea!

next post ... family party.

Oh, and everytime I take a picture of my hanf it looks like that too. I had a picture from YEARS ago where I was holding sea shells and when someone saw it they asked if it was my grandma's hand. Yeah.
