weekends past
gosh.some of my blogging friends are super boring and i mean that as an insult. if i insult you will you post proof that you're not boring like i'm about to do? (because i know my blog has been boring too ...).
i'll talk about our weekend even though it's already tuesday.
{friday} cayden's last ball game. phew. we tried to be super cool coach/team mom people and had a pizza party for the players following the game but it wasn't fun. the wind was insane! pizza boxes were blowing everywhere. it was miserable as i was trying to hold/feed gavin as well as eight pizza boxes while jake passed out team pictures and trophies. however, it was fun(ny) that some of the kids asked jake if they could have their picture with him "thanks coach." we'll see if i can convince him to coach again next year. on the way home he said he was glad to be done "being nice" to little kids. i totally get it, i feel that way every night as i'm crawling in bed and i'm pretty sure i'm not usually very succesful in my "be nice" efforts. just ask the five year old who i've been watching for the last few weeks.
{saturday} christina and i met up in the morning to run the jordan parkway. neither of us had ever done it before and we thought it a cool idea to start at 12300 south and run over to 10600 south and back stopping in the middle to enjoy a red mango. chris was a superstar and we were feeling awesome as we could see the buildings surrounding our destination in the distance. had we really made it that far without stopping? but then the trail ended. did you know this? did you know the parkway isn't really a parkway at all? it should go all the way through, right? well it doesn't and we were both super bummed. we turned around and ran back (at least we got 40 minutes in) and drove over to red mango. oh well. we have a different plan for next time and next time will be real soon. here we are ... proud of our efforts.

later in the day jake and i dropped the kids off to craig and linda's so we could breath. that's how i felt anyway. like i just needed a few hours to breath without being asked a gazillion questions or having to pretend to be interested in whatever non-sensical story i'm being told. sometimes i just need adult interaction.
so we went to park city, walked the outlets for a few hours and then enjoyed dinner at one of our favorite restaurants, the porcupine. i love being with my husband. especially when the conversation never drifts to the kids. we can still talk about other things. imagine that!
{sunday} we went to see UP! cayden was bent over the fact that i popped the corn at home. i told him he could either go to the movie theater and see a movie with his ziploc of popcorn or he could go sit with a bucket of movie theater popcorn outside of the movie theater and wait for us while we watched the movie. one day he'll get it. hopefully. the movie was cute. i felt ridiculously old as i struggled to enjoy it in 3D. i couldn't stand it! the 3D was distracting to me. i felt like i couldn't focus entirely on the whole picture and the glasses made searching for snacks and picking up dropped sippy cups extremely challenging. i don't think we'll take the 3D route again anytime soon. it was fun that one time ...

soon i will blog again about something ... i just need to get my creative juices flowing. for now, i'm looking forward to your posts.

p.s. i'm not easily insulted. actually, i'm getting awfully tired of how overly sensitive people seem to be these days! say what you mean and mean what you say (that's why i LOVE your blog).
Number two, I totally understood the whole 3d thing. Drew and I had so much fun, but I was pretty much over the 3d-ness of it all after about 30 minutes. Still...the idea of it was pretty great.
Glad all is well :)
