chest hair

this morning i overheard cayden tell brooklyn that he thinks he has his first chest hair.

what?

that's the only word i could form in my head and this is because just two nights ago while sitting at a restaurant table with my mom and the kids he asked "how old are you when you get these?" as he was cupping his hands over his chest as if he were holding a basketball in each hand and moving them in and out as if the basketballs were squishy. as if! can you imagine what it was like to see my six year old demonstrate how boobs are to him and how they move?

what?

even more disturbing is i noticed the young girl who'd just been seated next to us and realized he was referring to her boobs. what on earth?! my six year old noticing such things. i was flabbergasted.

he also asked recently where babies come from. i've been lucky to avoid this question for so long. i thought i might have a panic attack. then i remembered how much i truly loved the short film before UP! {with the storks getting babies from the clouds} so i reminded him of that movie and he was satisfied. for now.

here we are at cayden's kindergarten program. he tells everyone he's in first grade now. he's crazy excited to eat lunch at school. i share in the excitement, i'm not going to lie. some of the pictures are fuzzy. my camera isn't the greatest but they'll do ...

{classmates after their fashion show ~ they had to wear their favorite outfit. most of the boys wore their baseball uniforms. it was great listening to the descriptions of each outfit and their catwalk was hilarious}

{brooklyn, brennan and cayden}

I am sooo NOT looking forward to those questions. By the way your mom seriously doesn't look a day older than the last time I saw her....which was YEARS ago!! She is so cute.

Haha, I can't even believe that kids notice that kind of stuff. I think I will pass out from shock when my kids start mentioning that stuff. Right now, I can laugh from afar. Welcome to 1st Grade, Cayden! You are awesome!

That is so funny, I have no idea what to tell kids when they ask those questions. Good luck with all the many questions to come lol.
