valentine's 2012

valentine's at our house was fun.

husband and i went for a romantic dinner to trio the weekend before valentine's day while the kids slept at grandma and grandpa's house. (this was after we spent a few hours pricing out washers and dryers.  sexy time!).

i took a photo of him.

he took a photo of me (and never told me that my hair looked weird).

we made the official day all about the kids.  i'd like to share it even though it's not much different from last year or, the year before that. 

cayden was his not-unusual grumpy self.  something about the holiday's brings this out in him.  too much excitement or maybe it's all just a bit too anti-climatic for him?  i could fib and say he was a ball of joy but then you'd see this photo and realize i was full of it.

the kids love valentine's day.  especially our little door-bell-ditching tradition.  treats on the doorstep, ring the bell and run.  gavin pretended to be a "bandit" which was really entertaining.

before this though, their dad snuck valentines for them onto our front poor and rang the bell.  brooklyn was beyond confused at how this was possible.  our little secret.

speaking of brooklyn, she was so much fun.  the girl loves a celebration and makes the most of every minute of it.

she set the table beautifully for our candlelit dinner.

we enjoyed our sparkling "wine" and swedish meatballs and then spent the rest of the evening delivering our valentines.
