the new library

i know, random post.

i haven't felt like blogging.  actually, it started when i tried to post several recipes on my food blog and blogger told me i'd met my quota for free photo storage.  i need to buy more storage which is certainly not a budgeted priority so i didn't jump on it.  then, i started feeling bad for myself that no one reads my blog anyway.  i say this out loud and the listener says, "i do."  she's my mom so she knows all this stuff about our lives already.  i can't believe she doesn't get sick of us. i guess i can always blog for my mom.  and, try to remember the reason i started this blog in the first place which is so that i can print it into albums for my kids.  i still need to do this ~ the whole blog into book thing.  money is a B.

for now, i'll fork over the $5 for more photo storage.  i'm not happy about it though so, you better read this post and love every single photo.

back to random post.  random because it's not related to christmas at all which is sort of weird considering how christmas is currently dominating every inch of free space in my mind.  nope, not about christmas.

it's about books.  we have a new library in our small little city.  it's very cool.  there's a pad in the front that the kids jump on to make music.

i took the kids to the opening a couple of months ago and snapped some shots.  i was surprised at how bare a lot of the shelves were.  room for growth i guess.  we've gone back several times since.  it's super cool that most of the books are brand new versions and i just realized i could start reserving yoga dvd's so i wouldn't have to workout with p90x tony over and over again. not that he's not great company or anything, it's just a bit monotonous.  you know?

this first photo is of the thingy out front.  i almost called it art but, i'm not sure that would be correct and it's definitely not a statue.  so, i'll call it a thingy.  in case you're anything like we are and wonder what on earth it symbolizes, i also took a picture of that bit of information hanging on the wall inside (good to know, no?  is your life not forever changed knowing what this thingy represents?  mine either.  i still don't get it).

a photograph of the original library (which i think is cool)

she signed on the dotted line for her first library card.  a proud mommy moment.

libraries are brilliant. especally cool ones. happy for your town. So, I got an especally great early christams gift in the mail. your caps made my day. not only because of my odd obsession with them- but i was just touched , again, by the fact that you were collecting them for me and even took the initiative to send them. They even smelled good- like they had been stored in a clean closet rather than my dirty smelly one. :) merry christmas. and thanks
funny, the word verification to post this is "drymerb" kinda reminds me of dry-heaving or possibly some sort of vaginal irritation. thought you would want to know that- and anyone else who post after me and reads this

yeah rach! postman was pretty adamant the box would not arrive in time for the big day. i was pretty confident it didn't matter either way.

finding it funny that you associate "merb" with vagina.

just sayin'

merry christmas!

thanks to everyone for de-lurking on my blog :)
I love your blog too!! I am a huge fan of library...it's a perfect place for us poor folk!! Yours is pretty cool though!!

what the? $5 bucks?? That is so lame. I've never heard that. I'd pay for it to though.

You know I read your blog. Which I might say you are slacking at. (You always remind me. :)) Also, you have a new camera to show off!!!

Your library is definitely way cooler than our library! We don't frequent ours often enough at all. Oh well.
