a lot of stuff that happened

after brooklyn had her birthday we did some other stuff.
promise.
blogging = big. fat. fail. on my part.
but, i'm going to be better.
promise.

october 2, 2011
we went with my mom (grandma julie) up to snowbird for the oktoberfest.
she treated us to a ride on the tram.
the kids loved it.

cayden played fall ball and loved being the tallest and fastest on his team.

cayden also played in a flag football league for the first time and loved it.

october 14th, 2011

bunko is always a highlight in my month but it was especially fun in october when we all dressed in
"something you wouldn't be caught dead in."

i sported high waisted jeans, a character t-shirt, fanny pack, socks with wedge sandals, hoop earrings, bangs, a scrunchy and lip liner.

lindsay wore this one piece animal print get up.

melissa looked like a principal in her bootylicious mom dress.
so we called her "mrs. scott."

candice sported a fake baby bump.
i pretended that it was mine.
don't we look so proud.

october 21, 2011

my sweet christina had her 30th birthday at a piano bar which meant i had to put on real clothes and go out of the house past nine.

happy birthday chris!

halloween happened too.
the kids had fun at cornbelly's, grandma's school carnival, their own school's parade and a party at the city recreation center.
then there was the pumpkin patch, pumpkin carving, chili-eating and trick-or-treating.

jake and i celebrated our 11 year anniversary.
love him.

other things that happened.

we went to "planet play" to celebrate our friend/cousin chris' 40th birthday.

brooklyn entertained us along with the rest of the first grade in her school program.

(showing off her new outfit before the program)

november 21, 2011
meet amanda and eric.
what a trip.
because i'd say amanda is one of my dearest friends and has been for some time now but, i'd never met her in person.
amanda lives in my computer.
lie.
amanda lives in california and i was lucky enough to get to know her through my favorite food diary forum that i've been a member of for years.
when i found out she would be flying back to california from arizona with a layover in utah,
i jumped on the opportunity to meet her and her two-time ironman man-friend, eric.
a highlight of my life.
we took amanda and eric to red iguana where i tried mole for the first time and was teased for not ever eating seafood.  my husband sat patiently while we talked each others ears off and the kids were on their best behavior.
the only bad part was that we didn't have long enough to hang out.

thanksgiving.
my mom and dad hosted us for thanksgiving this year.
it was perfectly quaint.
a delightful evening.

husband's company christmas party.
attire: "christmas casual."
location: rice eccles stadium
i put way too much thought into what in the hell "christmas casual" meant.
no need to bore you with the gory details so i'll just say, i was pathetic.
luckily, i ended up deciding against a too-expensive outfit that would have been too-fancy and opted for a simple get up.  i took a picture of myself because i told my friends i would.

first though, a picture of our reflections because we didn't know anyone to ask them to take the picture for us.

10 beautiful miles with 4 lovely friends

now we're into christmas celebrations.
the kids have visited with santa.
the husband and i have drained our savings account.

(asking for a family computer and several other things
after assuring the big man he's been good ALL year)

(asking for optimus prime)

my blogging goal is to commit to once a week updating.
these long ass posts are annoying (i'm sorry) and,
it's important to me to have our photos and history somewhere that
can easily be made into a book at some point in time (i should work on this too).
so, that's the plan.

I LOVED this long ass post!

And just how in the world do you look so freakin' adorable even in that ugly bunko get up?

oh, and happy 11th anniversary.

oh, and i like to read about your life on here more than i do on FB.
